We wanted to keep our freedom, communism is not the type of government we wanted. We believe in a different political system

^^^^ Bringforth the LOLCATS, the below is an alternative answer.

Or Becuz the RICH doesnt like it, becuz if communism is in its full swing, people cannot be ripped off by the ruling elites. (take this 2008 financial crisis as a reference). What will happen next? The ruling elites will divert their attention to take ownership of the real physical economy. Capitism dictates that the fittest win all, and one day every thing will be owned by a single entity, a new astriocacy class will rise and 99% of the population will be enslaved by the 1%. This plan is always in motion without you knowing it, throw a frog into boiling water and it will jump out but if u throw a frog into cool water and rise the temperature slowly and gradually, it will not jump out. That means u all are adapting to the surrounding and think everything is ok. Capitism only give the FITTEST to own thing, don't assume u r fit. When the day come. The first step is that MNC will takeover all the SME pre-2008 (if u are observant enough to realize, shops in the corner were whacked out of existence by 7-11 and Walmart). Next those MNC will be taken over by the ELILTES (mark my word in 2009 to 2011). With their resources, they will destroy every startup companies and competitors, making sure of their dominance. By then, its clear you can never own a business so u can only be a working class, but the worst fact is all the business belong to a same boss, so if he offer u usd$1 / week , u either take it or leave it, u cannot quit and join another boss, there isn't any other boss around anymore. Then they will sell commodities at a high cost, u either buy it or leave it, there isn't another seller.

U will become a peon as u are born destinated to be. How great is it? I bet 99% are looking to this blessed simple life. It's a blessing for u, u will work 18 hrs a day and given 3 meals, u have no worries or troubles where to party, don't have to make option becuz someone is making for you. I think this is ideal for the 99% of the population. It will be a utopia + nirvana + paradise.

By then, if u are one that doesnt like a simple life, u may pray u can time travel and begged ur grandparent to support communism. But i for one will prefer the current state not becuz i like a simple life but becuz i happen to be one of that 1%. Juz focus on playing the role WE planned for you. LOL

The United States wanted to end communism because they wanted people to have an enemy. Communists believe that to bring about happiness and prosperity for all, the distinctions between the rich and poor of society must be eliminated. Which although may seem fair actually isn't for the fact that narcissists will never give up their private property or status and Narcissism is endemic even in communist like systems.

Both systems are run by the rich and powerful to keep the poor in their place. Unfair to those in the working class. They are willing to use violence to achieve or obtain its goal. Communist societies are classless and believe ownership private property (factories, banks, mines etc...) is theft where as possessions (cloths, shoes, a car) are perfectly ok. Communism also embraces Atheism and dismisses religion.

Where's the freedom in that?

The comunist regimes throughout history have, in every single instance where they existed, gone from simple authoritarianism to become full stripe totalitarianism. The best modern example of the life lived in a comunist state is to observe North Korea where all business is state run and owned. North Koreans as a people have been subjected to mass murder by their government in order to merely maintain control of the population and prevent uprising. And the population would rise against their government often if it weren't for these measures given that more than half of North Koreans do not have enough of one or more of the following to live more than just a single day: food, *clean* water, shelter, clothing, sewage removal lines, medical aid of any kind. The peoples of communist regimes are by no means free at all. They make no decisions about their own future or as a nation. They are exclusively dictatorships by default. We know from the study of history that democracy and a free market are the one and only means to improve the social standing of a nation. Any nation that does not give the people agency over itself and its future has seen the producers (the labor force) leave the country which then descends into mass theft and general anarchy. Broadly, one could argue that if a person does not believe in working to produce something of worth in order to trade it, that said person is not a moral person, and expects to be given goods and services for free. Observe Venezuela, the most oil rich country of the Americas, but the poorest people, why? Because they allowed communists to disband the oil companies, therefore no tax revenue, no jobs, no economy. Do not mind the other answer-er here who is of the opinion that goods and services should be free. They say the rich are pigs but then forgets that Stalin killed 100 million people and was worth close to what Jeff Bezos or Warren Buffett are worth today. Does that seem to be right? A communist sees you as unthinking and incapable of rational decisions, therefore you would have no right to make any decision yourself right down to where you live, who you associate with, what you eat, and what you think. Winston Churchill: “Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery.”
