02 trailblazer ltz service engine reduced power light comes on --replaced fan clutch water pump help?
Use an OBD2 code scanner to find out what's wrong with your vehicle. It will tell you what's wrong and let you clear the code when you're done. If the problem hasn't been taken care of, the computer will set the code again. BTW, why would you replace parts that weren't causing a problem?
When a clutch fan is always engaged, it could mean that the clutch is no longer working properly and needs to be replaced. If a clutch wears out, then it will make?æthe engine to run hot when idle.

I went to car quest, bought the fan clutch for $207.00 (with tax), took it to a local mechanic and they replaced it for $35.00. Total of $242.00 that I've spent. I know this is a lot, but I wanted to get rid of that noise as soon as possible. Thank you.
The clutch never disengages. This creates excessive labor on the engine and will destroy fuel economy.

Clutch is either misadjusted or needs to be replaced.
The ac clutch is held on with a single nut, and can be removed with a remover tool. It the tool will not fit in the space available, then the entire compressor will have to be removed to replace the clutch.

The fan clutch on 2003 trailblazer sounds like a jet engine the dealer tells me even if i replace it they will have to reprogram it is this true or can i do it myself?
You can absolutely replace the fan clutch on your 2003 Trailblazer yourself. The clutch does not have to be reprogrammed but you do have to wait until the vehicle is completely cool before you begin work. Just remember to re-torque the fan bolts as specified in your manual.
You have a 98 cavalier 5 speed and had the clutch go out you had it replaced and it went out again in 500 miles any reasons why it would do this?
Installed incorrectly, driver who rides the clutch, clutch out of adjustment, weak pressure plate, that should have been replaced along with the clutch.
yes you can remove the fan clutch without removing the rad. it is tight but it can be done. it is easier with the Rad removed
AC compressor - clutch seems to be locking upmaking noise can only the clutch be replaced or does the entire Compressor need to be replaced?
If the AC pulley is locking up when the ac compressor clutch engages, it's not a clutch problem, it's a compressor problem. But yes, the AC clutch can usually be replaced separately. The problem is, if the clutch is worn out the compressor is probably worn out as well. It usually isn't that much more to replace the whole thing.
If it has a hydraulic clutch, I believe they can not be adjusted. When the pedal travel is no longer acceptable the clutch disc must be replaced.
At least the slave cylinder. The clutch master cylinder can be replaced at any time.
if fan make a loud noise your fan clutch is bad

There could be a few reasons why a clutch pedal is stiff on a 1999 Accord. The clutch may be low on fluid or the clutch may need to be replaced.
the return spring on the clutch pedal assembly must be replaced.
clutch master slave cylinder just replaced mine and now it doesn't do it
I think this has an electric fan clutch. If it does then check to make sure it is bolted on good and if that isn't the case then a wobble would indicate a bad fan clutch.
you need to change the spring in the clutch cylinder ,you find more info on at alfa .net
Where are the good wrenches now. Do yourself a favor and buy a Honda or Toyota. Peace
sticking thermostat, fan clutch or waterpump. all have tell tale signs.
The clutch bearing for an AC compressor is located in the center of the clutch. If the bearing goes bad, then the clutch is replaced as a whole part rather than changing the bearing.
The AC clutch cannot be replaced without physically removing the compressor on a 1997 Mercury Sable. The compressor and magnetic plate must be removed before you can access the clutch.
Your clutch needs adjusted or replaced.
Nope, it's a cable clutch. In fact, I'm having mine replaced tomorrow.
A few weekends ago I had to replace the fan clutch on my '06 Trailblazer EXT LS. In addition to getting the P0495 code from the check engine light, when I rev'd it up it sounded like a jet engine. Instructions: http://www.diystew.com/2006-trailblazer/

2000 Toyota Camry revs in gear but barely moves from 1st-2nd 2nd-3rd ect Does the clutch have to be replaced?
If you have manual transmission, most likely the clutch has to be replaced (as you said).
Some indications you need to have the fan clutch replaced are an engine that overheats and too much play in the clutch fan. Another clue is if the fan blade freezes up or if the thermal spring is loose or worn out.
If not replaced having it resurfaced is recommended.
about every 2 years
