Heater core may be air-bound and need to be bled or heater core may be plugged Remove one water line to heater to see if there is water flow to same. Connect 1st water line and disconnect 2nd to see if there is water flow through heater core
AnswerThe first question that would come to you? 1= are the heater controls operating properly? if they are then 2= is the heaters thermostat operational?
Another possibility might be that your radiator fan is not turning off, this happened to mine (though mine is a 1998) my heater had worked the year before but this year it wasn't... we replaced the thermostat and still nothing, on a warmer winter day we flushed the system to clean it, and nothing, finally my dad noticed my radiator fans seemed to be staying on all the time, he looked it up, pulled the fuse for them out and the heater worked just fine, later we replaced the fuse (didn't even buy a new one) and since then the fans and heater work perfectly normally... kinda random but it worked...
Thermostat and/or heater core may be defective
probably the heater core is clogged
That or the thermostat.
Low coolant? Thermostat not opening?
Check the coolant in the 96 Taurus. Check to insure that the thermostat is working properly, and that the water pump is working.
Could be: Low coolant in the radiator - or - thermostat stuck open - or - heater core plugged.
the heater core could be pluged or the heater control valve is stuck closed
Low coolant? Bad thermostat? Heater core plugged, restricted or airbound? Heater control cable or valve not working?
Low on coolant. Bad thermostat. Plugged heater core. Temp blend door inop.
either low coolant or a thermostat stuck openSee "Related Questions" below for much more trouble-shooting and diagnostics for Taurus/Sable "no heat" problems...
no indeed it doesnt have anything to do with it. you see the ac heater has diffrent conections in where the theremostat has nothing to do with if u were talking with temperature changes maybe it would.
Low coolant? Defective thermostat? Heater core plugged, restricted, or air bound Water pump not circulating coolant?
