Just had a 95 Buick Century get stuck in first and found out a small screen melted and fell into the converter, naturally locking it up. The cause was the engine overheated and my daughter seemed to forgot to tell me this situation.
Answersome automatic transmissions have a vacuum assist valve attached with a rubber hose running to it. look for one and make sure rubber hose isn't rotted, split, or just popped off, may be the problemI have a 2000 Buick Century costom and I replaced it but it leaks what could be wrong
i have a 1996 buick century just came back from mechanic head gasket is gone and there is anti freeze in my oil i guess if you had water in your rad then you would have water in your oil.
It could be the heater core leaking.

Yes a humming out back could be a fuel pump failing. I have gone through 2 in my 1993 Century - 150 k miles - They have to drain and drop the tank to repair

It can be anything from the printed circuit in the dash to the speed sensor on the trans. Have it checked out by a good mechanic.
Thermostat is stuck open.
the catilatic converters could be stopped up.
Some are in the inlet to the evaporator and some could be in the condenser line.
Leaking fuel. Get this fixed ASAP.
