Where the brake light relay is on a 2000 mercury cougar or why the brake lights wont work the fuses and lights are good?
Check the brake light switch first. It is usually near the brake pedal under the dash. A bad turn signal switch can also cause this if the brake lights are also turn signal lights. If the brake lights are independent of the turn signals then disregard the switch problem. A good wiring diagram will help to diagnose the problem also. Check with dealership mechanics as they have access to diagrams.

When the pedal is pushed down, the brake light circuit is powered up (through the turn…
Why won't 1999 Chevy Malibu tail lights work good bulbs good fuses back up lights work and the turn signals work?
How the brake lights work on a 66 Mustang is very simple. Power goes from the headlight switch to the brake light switch, then through the turn signal switch and back to the brake lights. There is no fuse in that system. There is a self resetting circuit breaker in the headlight switch, but, if that was tripped, none of the lights on the car would work. The first thing to check is the brake…

What causes the brake lights not to work on a Chevy corsica and the turn signals not to work have changed flashers also relay?
Depends on what the problem is. It is either, defective bulbs, brake light switch, blown fuse, or wiring problem. Check the fuse first, then if all lights including the 3rd light are not working, suspect a defective or out of adjustment brake light switch. The switch is located somewhere on the brake pedal arm, or may be a pressure switch on the master cylinder.
