It may very well have shocks in the rear or it may have the Air Ride system. Crawl under the car and look see.
Its only in the rear, the air compressor is under the hood, the sensor is on the left control arm and the air bags are built into the 2 rear struts (this system usually doesnt work on a 16 year old car the rubber in the air bags rots out and they cant hold air) Napa and Sears have replacement air shocks that fit the Park Avenue. The weaker the shocks and the heavier the load the more the compressor motor runs to level the car. There is no load leveling of the front of the car. The front has tower struts, completely independent of the rear air leveling shocks.

Some models had the option for "Computer Controlled Ride". In the computer system there is a BCM (Body Control Modual) That monitors data from the load leveling sensors and transmission speed sensors. Using this data the computer can adjust the air pressure in the struts to one three settings based on the condtions.I recently bought a 91 STS and found that it does not have this option. It does although, have the load leveling air shocks in the rear.Although a very nice option to have the CCR struts are no longer manufactured by Cadillac. There are articles on the Cadillac forums that claim that GM air adjustable shocks will work on the Cadillac. Check with your mechanic.Standard struts can be a more affordable replacement replacement. Be aware that there is a process discussed in the forums that you will need to go through in order to disable the CCR functions in the computer or you will be stuck with CCR system faliure warning.
The air shocks in a 91 chrysler are actually just air bags in a sence, they are a red cylindrical rubber peice that is fit inbetween the actuall springs in the shocks. Removing your tire and take a look, if there is a red thing inbetween your spring coils you have air ride shocks. They are not like the newer models as they don't self adjust they are actually always full of air.
well if you change air shocks from car to car we find that you chance of the shocks going bad is very high , you can convert the car to a coil over strut system we back with a lifetime warrenty, give me a call if you have any questions, chris ext:248@1-866-597-2397 or cbowes@strutmasters.com
