Yes, on a Series One Buick 3800 supercharged V6 use a shorter belt... AutoZone Duralast Multi-V belt Part Number 795K6.. which is basically a 79 1/2 inch belt (rout the belt exactly as the diagram shows, just skipping the supercharger).
I took it to a mechanic I trust afterward (even though he said it couldn't be done) so he could take a look and make sure I wasn't going to blow the motor. He said that all his references showed no danger, just that the motor would be "a little less peppy".
A side note I learned though.. there is a metal hose that the belt may rub against, it is the Power Steering line... just lift very gently on it until it is cleared (maybe 1/4 inch) with a pry bar.
Note: the 3.8 liter GM V-6 engine is a Buick built design that is used by many General Motors divisions. It is supercharged in various models, such as the Buick Park Ave. & Riviera, and in other brands like the Pontiac Bonneville.
On a Series Two engine just remove the accessory belt that is only on the supercharger itself, the vehicle will run just fine like a non-supercharged one.
By doing this you will be avoiding the cost of repairing the roots supercharger, and you will get similar performance to a basic 3.8 liter Buick V6 engine, without any apparent computer or intake problems at all.
