Deep fat frying is a cooking method in which the food is immersed completely in very hot oil.
Yes, different oils can be mixed in deep fat frying, but one needs to be aware of the smoke point of different oils. For example, olive oil is not used for deep frying because it has a low smoke point. Peanut oil and lard have higher smoke points.
There is sauteing where only a very thin film of fat is used in the pan. Then there's pan frying where enough fat is used so that it comes up halfway on the food being fried. Then there is deep frying where the food is submerged in fat.
There is more than one way to fry food, to fry means to cook in hot fat or oil, a frying pan or a deep fat frying pan are two utensils that can be used.
shallow frying means the food to be fried should not be completely dipped in oil while frying. For this, a flat pan is used rather than a deep bottom pan.
You can't use if for deep fat fry,but you can use it for sauteing and shallow frying. The olive oil will also get a burnt smell if you use it too much!

In general, you do not put oil in the pan when frying bacon. Bacon is fatty and the pan will gain a layer of liquid fat on the bottom when the bacon heats. In fact, if the bacon is very fatty and the fat is not drained from the pan partway through frying, the bacon might not become crisp. If you are frying healthy alternatives to bacon, the pseudo-bacon might not have enough fat content for frying, so you might need oil, but check the instructions on the container in which it came. (I tried two versions of soy bacon many years ago, and one suggested putting oil in the pan.)
fried, is when you cook any food in the frying pan and keep the saturated fat with it. Deep fried food, is when you cook it with FAT/OIL and keep the saturated fat as well. You can also distinguish between shallow fried and deep fried. Shallow fried is where you fry food in a little bit of oil in a frying pan, while deep fried refers to when you fry food in a lot of oil so that it is completely submerged in the oil while it is frying.
Fat (animal) or healthier vegetable oil is heated to a high temperature (not quite smoking). Food is then cooked by immersing it fully in the oil until it is cooked.
It uses oil to cook the potatoes, and oil is a fat. Because you are soaking the oil in fat, when you eat the fried potato, you are also eating all the fat that got soaked into it, and generally eating lots of fat isn’t great for your body. If you were to bake or air fry the potatoes, on the other hand, those methods don’t use oil and thus don’t use any fat, making it a hearthier way to prepare your potatoes.
