Begin by removing the decorative radio retaining cover. Remove the retaining bolts. The radio will slide out. Remove the wiring harness and the antenna cable from the back of the radio.

The radio fuse on a 1998 Oldsmobile Cutlass is located in the fuse box inside the vehicle. The fuse box is located on the side of the dash near the driver's door.
You can remove the fuse; however, it also controls the horn and radio. It is the 3rd row from the left and the 3rd fuse down.
Go to the library and get a chiltons repair manual for your model.
open the fuse box and there should b a diagram on the underside of the lid.
You remove the old radio and put a new radio in its place. A vague question gets a vague answer.
you just have to get out the 2 black bolt at the bottom of the radio "rack"... there is only 2 black bolt to remove... at the bottom... thx
Pull off the wood grain trim bezzel then there are 4 7mm screws. Slide radio out and disconnect 3 wire plugs.
On a 96, there is a fuse panel on the right side of the dash, against the right door.
I had a very similar problem on my 95 Oldsmobile cutlass supreme. After hours of pain staking work I finally found that a wire was loose. The wire is coated red and is beneath the fuse box on the drivers side directly behind the windshield wash tank. There is an eyelet on the end of the wire and one screw holding it in place directly under the fuse box. As soon as I tightened the screw my problem went away.
Well i recently just replaced my 1989 Oldsmobile Cutlass Calais S 2 door Heater Core. Man is it a Job! You have to dismantle the center console including the parking brake and radio to get to the heater core. once you pull all the plastic/fake leather away its pretty easy. I think there are only a couple screws that hold it on a couple mounting brackets inside the trunk. You'll have to spin off the nut on the outside of the car that holds the antenna on there, too. The antena has a big wire that goes to the radio and another wiring harness that operates the power mast.
In order to unlock the radio on a 98 cutlass, you would need to remove the dash board cover. This will grant you access to the radio which might be held by screws or nuts that you will loosen.Ê
there is a little orange button on the radio that is the power button
They sell wire kits these days to match the vehicle's harness to the radio wiring. All you have to do match the colors. Go into any radio supply store, tell them the year of your vehicle and they should be able to give you what you need.
In episode 12 of season 2 Gemma and Tara are out running errands for the club, after being on lock down at the club house. Gemma asks if Taras dad was catholic after noticing a saint statue under her dash by the radio. There is a clear picture of the Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme plate above the radio. Definitely a late 60's or early 70's model.
Make sure the radio is off. Press the SCAN button until the hour is reading what it should be. Press the SEEK button for the minutes. Make sure to hit SET when you are done.
might have a blown fuse bad relay, and hopefulley not a burnt fusable link. was any thing done with the wiring like a new radio?
AC was optional on the Cutlass Ciera in most years of its production. If so equipped, the controls are in the middle of the dashboard directly below the radio. If you are looking for where components are located, they are in various locations of the engine compartment, with exact placement depending on engine. Get a repair manual at an auto parts store for more information.
