Kangaroos do not live in Africa. Kangaroos are native to Australia. The only kangaroos found in their native habitat outside of Australia are the tree-kangaroos on the island of New Guinea.

Kangaroos are native to Australia alone - no other continent or island. However, tree kangaroos can be found in New Guinea as well as in the far northern rainforests of Australia, but that is the only variety found anywhere else apart from Australia.

Australia is where they originated. There are kangaroos that live in zoos around the world.

However, the tree kangaroos are also native to New Guinea and limited islands of Indonesia.
Kangaroos live almost exclusively in Australia, with some living only in some parts of Papua New Guinea.

Kangaroos can live in arid or cold conditions, in rain forests or deserts. They live on rocky mountains, in desert plains or in the rain forest.

The only kangaroos native to Asia are some species of tree kangaroos.

Bennett's Tree Kangaroo and Lumholtz's Tree Kangaroo both live in the rainforests of Cape York in Far North Queensland, Australia. There are also five species of tree kangaroo on the island of New Guinea, which comprises the countries of Papua New Guinea and Irian Jaya (Indonesia). Indonesia is part of Asia. These tree kangaroos are commonly found in the mountainous rainforests of the island. Several species live in lowlands, for example, the Lowlands Tree-Kangaroo.

The only kangaroos which live in Asia are tree-kangaroos.

As well as being found in northern Australia and New Guinea, some species of tree kangaroos are found in Indonesia, but nowhere else in Asia. Goodfellow's Tree kangaroo lives in Irian Jaya, Indonesia, as well as Papua New Guinea. The Golden-mantled tree kangaroo, discovered only in 2005, also lives in Indonesia.
