The EGR system recirculates dirty unburnt emission gases back into your engine through the intake manifold which decreases performance, but improves gas mileage. You can bypass the EGR valve. Just buy a block off plate from you local speed shop. However, the EGR valve is there to cool the combustion chamber so without it, you will hear a lot of pinging until the motor melts.
Blocking off an EGR valve can make the car run rough. The fuel mileage can suffer as well, since the car is designed to have the EGR valve operable.
Depends on what its on. Most of the time that code indicates your EGR valve is bad and needs to be replaced. If its on a diesel engine, there is also a procedure call an "EGR delete" that will actually increase your horsepower and fuel efficiency. But your emissions might not pass e-check ???
the egr valve is on the top front of the block and is easy accesable by your do it your self mechanic and the sensor is about 5 inches behind it
Its under the EGR on the block ya. follow a hose from egr to vsv from underside of car
The EGR valve is located at the front of the h22a4 engine. The EGR valve is right beside of the front of the EGR valve.
Open bonnet its on righthand side of block
no
Buy a new part and mount it to the firewall by the egr valve and connect the wires and vacumm lines and leave old one on block.
On the very low rear of the engine block. It is difficult to get to.
basicly, you need something putting in the way between the exhaust pipe and egr valve. there are common "blocker" plate kits available on the internet (check ebay) that include full instructions. if you do block the egr tho, you are liable for a fine as the egr is an emissions related product
Yes, the EGR valve, or port EGR
They are usually on the valve cover. Trace the hoses from the carb since they are vacum actuated. 1 of those should lead you right to it. If you shake it & there is movement inside, it is good.Amendment - by PayDayBillThe PCV Valve is located in the valve cover not the EGR. The EGR valve is located on a spacer block that is installed between the Carburetor and the Intake Manifold. It points to the back side of the engine behind the carb. The EGR will be visible once the air cleaner assembly is removed.
