I contacted Safeway via email about IMO no longer being available in our local markets and they told me the item has been discontinued. Still trying to confirm this via the manufacturer.
Sour cream is a mixture of many substances. It does not have a chemical formula.
Commercially made Sour cream is a dairy product rich in fats made by adding bacteria derived from lactic acid to pasteurized cultured cream, letting the bacteria to grow until it sours and thickens the cream. then it is re-pasteurized to stop the process. It is soured by the addition of a starter culture similar to those used in yogurt and soft cheese manufacturing

Yes it will smooth your skin and make it more soft. It also evens out skin tone, and will help lighten your tan in the summer. I wouldnt recommend it for oily skin though, as it may make it more oily. :)

Always throw away items marked with a Used By date ON the used by date. Ask yourself: Is it really worth the risk of feeling sick for the next 24 hours just so you can use the last $0.50 worth of sour cream.
yes. Sour cream is made by adding live yogurt cultures to heavy cream and leaving it at room temp for a few days. You can either add some plain yogurt to your cream and leave it out for a few days, or you can add a touch of lemon juice to your recipe with the heavy cream. Personally, I substitute plain yogurt for the lower fat content, and it tastes the same.
