What is spiritual mentoring?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

From a religious perspective, Spiritual Mentoring is a learning process where a discipler or a more mature individual imparts to a younger individual or learner the basics of faith-building activities like praying, studying the word of God, evangelism or sharing one's faith to others, benevolence or giving to the needy, praying for the sick, visiting those in prison, and specially building a deep conviction or understanding on why these things are important to one's life. This involves doing together those activities in a regular basis, constant discipling, providing continuous exhortation, correction, and providing small challenges that allows the learner to build confidence along the way and finally be able to do it on his/her own.

A more informal but no less spiritual mentoring occurs when an emotionally mature individual recognizes their role as a mentor in general, and thus seeks to provide a more thoughtful response to, in this case, spiritual questions.

What do you feel you can give to the mentoring partnership program?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

I can give many hours to the mentoring program because it's very important to the wikianswers web site and me. It's helpful for users to know and understand how to use the super tools. Also, how to conduct themselves on the site, and it's important to me and for me to be a good example to them. This is what I give to the mentoring program and my proteges, myself.

Why would you establish a mentoring program for your employees?

User Avatar

Asked by Joyceagee

Mentoring pairs an experienced person with the less experienced one. This eases the tension and anxiety of learning a new position or a new way of doing things.

The Protege has a single person to go to with their problems or concerns which makes it much more likely for them to ask the question in the first place.

It has been shown to shorten new employee training and fitting in with their new position and company by half.

Mentoring not only trains the specifics of a job, but introduces them into the workplace community as well.

People who get this advantage tend to do better and stay in their job longer than those who don't

How do you get the Mentoring Program graduate badge on your profile?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Any WikiAnswers Super who would like to learn to use WikiAnswers to its fullest, meet new friends in the super Community, or just learn all their new Super Powers just needs to request a Mentor.

This can be done by messaging Ganderton at UserDiscuss:Ganderton, or by Emailing to Ganderton@wikianswers.com.

They will then contact you and take you through everything you will need to know, how to socialize, where to comment or make suggestions, how to use you powers, or to just chat about stuff.

Once your Mentor has determined that you have learned all you need to know about our Community, your Super Powers, and WikiAnswers site etiquette, they will recommend you for graduation.

Your graduation will then be announced in the Forum, and the Graduate Badge will be added to your profile.
