You will need to splice wiring harnesses and clearance one spot if using the automatic transmission. If your vehicle had the 3.0 3vze engine you will need to move motor mounts slightly. Another swap which is gaining popularity is the 1uzfe 4.0 v8 used in Lexus sc400 and ls400. The 1uzfe will yield more power at a comparable price without sacrificing reliability.

96 4runner engine oil capacityi have myself a 1996 Toyota 4runner with 3.4l engine. this engine is called 5VZ-FE. i do have an original manual book for the car and that is what is says. if you change the oil with the filter it will take 5.2 quarts. if you do a change without replacing a filter - 4.9. well good luck changing your oil!
