The best thing to do is to not drill the screw heads to far down, since it will have a tendency to strip the screw heads, you should also consider making sure you item is prefectly mounted due to the problems of the screw.

The Ignition Module on this vehicle is located inside the distributor car. There are 2 sets of wires that plug into the distributor. The large wire connector is your ignition module. In order to remove the old one you must. . Unscrew and remove the distributor cap. Pull of the Rotor button in the center of the distributor. Remove the two screws on each side that holds in the plastic gasket that goes around the inside edge of the distributor. Once that is off.. there are 2 more screws that have to be removed that holds on the black distributor shield. Remove the Center screw that was underneath the rotor button. (Be sure not to strip that screw). Once the screw is out.. remove the contents but make sure to remember how it goes back together. Once the contents are removed.. there will be a very small screw that holds down a small metal contacter. Remove that screw.. slightly bend the contactor and remove the igniition module. Its alot simpler than it sounds. Good Luck!

I have a 1999 cr-v. With the distributor cap off you must slightly give the key a turn in the ignition (not trying to start it) just to turn the rotor a little. When the teeth on the rotor face the front end of the car you should be able to see a phillip's head screw on the back side that screws directly into the distributor shaft. Unscrew this and the rotor should slide right off. Be careful not to strip the screw, because you might end up having to take off the entire distributor housing to drill it out.

the 1996 Acura RL does not have a distributor, nor does it have any plug wires, it does however have 6 coils and 6 spark plugs.
