take the serpentine belt off and then take the crank pulley off the balancer and then you will need a puller to get the balancer off the crank.
The flywheel has to be held in place by a holding tool, Remove the mounting bolt, then use a balancer remover to pull the harmonic balancer.
You have to pull the balancer and then you have 2 screws holding the crank sensor to the engine block. You will need a puller with 3 small fingers to get the balancer off.Be careful not to bend the tangs on the rear of the balancer.
The harmonic balancer must be removed to change the sensor because the crank position triggering rings on the back of the balancer are entwined with the pick-up, Sorry

have you tried a 6 point socket?
I tried to change the harmonic balancer of my biuck lesabre 1994, but i can't remove the old one, the bold in the center is very , very tight and i don't know the type of screw, right or left turn.
With a balancer puller tool. With a balancer puller tool.
Remove the belt. Remove the bolt that attaches the harmonic balancer. Rent or purchase a harmonic balancer puller. Follow the Instructions with the puller and remove the old balancer. Install the new balancer making sure to line up the keyway, a little oil helps. Put the retaining bolt back in and tighten to manufacture specs.
The balancer has a piece of rubber that holds it together, The balancer is made of two pieces with rubber in the middle, and the rubber is coming apart. REPLACE BALANCER. The Pulley that's bolted on the balancer may be bent or not on stright and flush on the balancer, That would make the balancer look like its wobbleing too.
Pull the balancer then the seal. NOT EASY
You can go to a local parts place and rent a chrysler harmonic balancer puller. I just did mine on a 2001 and it costed 75.00 and when I was done they gave me my money back. It is the only way to get it off.
