on an 85 Honda accord the fuel pump is external ,meaning that the pump is not located in the fuel tank which most are located now a days, it is located on the driver side along the left side of the vehicle about a foot from the rear tire . there is a cover which has 3 bolts holding it ..underneathe is the fuel pump.

∙ 18y agoThe fuel pump in located inside the fuel tank, mounted on the top. Most of the time the fuel tank must be removed, but you may be lucky here. Some Honda's have an access plate inside the trunk or under the back seat, that allows you to access the pump without removing the tank. Look for this access panel. If it has none, then you must remove the tank. I think you will find one.

∙ 17y agoin the gas tank. once you lower the gas tank and disconnect the lines, there are 6 ten-mm bolts holding the pump in the tank.
