Drain the anti freeze. Then take the air intake system off. Then move the coil to the side. On the drivers side of the engine you have to move the Power Steering line to the side. Now all you have to do is release the spring tension clamps that came from the factory. Use small pliers or small vise grips (my choice) to slide them down on the hose. Use a sharp knife (small) to cut the hoses away from the fittings. Pulling on the hoses is a NO NO. You will break a fitting & tear your hand up. Use the screw type clamps to put the new hoses back on. Some people say use an adhesive to put the hoses onto the fittings. I would just tighten them securely. If you use the adhesive and want to turn the hose around & it has already hardened, you are in trouble. . They don't use adhesive at the factory. Always clean the heater control valve ends. Clean the heater control valve with a spray like WD-40. Use the gray sand paper to clean all of the fittings where the hoses will be attached. Then use a clean cloth with a small amount of alcohol to get rid of the sand paper residue. I would replace the heater control valve. This is an old car. You can be sure that when you close the heater control valve that no hot water is passing through the system when you turn the heat & cool knob on the dash. All it takes is a stiff heater valve to let hot water keep your ac from working properly. Also you will not damage the cable. A worn out heater control valve can cause you to break your adjustment knob and your cable. Replace your anti freeze with the orange anti freeze. The green solution can ruin the radiator if it is made of aluminum. Check with your Honda dealer if its possible. Most dealerships will not give out information from the mechanic. Why do you think they are in business. The parts man is generally the only person you will be able to talk to. The service manager doesn't work on your car either. If they give you the information you won't be coming to see their mechanic. I run the Dexcool(pink) in mine with distilled water. You shouldn't use regular tap or well water because of the minerals. Check for leaks after you crank your car up. Check again after you drive it around the block a few times. Keep an eye on your temperature gauge. Always use Honda parts if you can. That's why you bought a Honda in the first place. Right!!! You can't beat Honda parts. Buy them online from Majestic Honda.
