I have a 2004 highlander. I just finished the replacement. It was very easy. Open the back door to the highlander, remove the plastic compartment cover. You will expose the nuts and bolts that hold the asssembly to the car. Remove the nuts - be careful not to drop any inside the cavity. Once you have all the nuts removed, you can remove the lamps and pull the tail light assembly off. Put the new assembly on, replace nuts, and reinstall the lamps. Easy.
On a 2012 toyota Highlander, How do you replace tail light Assembly
Most of the time you don’t have to change the whole assembly, unless its been crushed or broken. The light bulb twists and un screws from the back of the assembly unit.
This is basically an "oil change reminder" light. Check your manual on how to reset it.
if it is anything like the 1995, there are two threaded knobs on the top of the light assembly that you unscrew completely off. the head light assembly then can be moved out so that you can access the back to change the bulb
The rear tail light assembly had problems with the sockets and circuit board. My guess is you will need to replace the socket and circuit board assembly for the passenger side rear tail light.
Question isn't clear. Are you asking how do you replace the bulb -OR- how to remove the entire lens assembly?
Look on the manual. It should have illustrated directions.
No, you get an assembly. No, you get an assembly.
The assembly is all one kit. It will cost you approx. $140. Open the rear door to the cover, remove the plastic panel behind the tire wheel. This will expose the guts to the light assembly. Remove nuts that hold assembly in place, remove lamps, and detach. Reinstall the same way. The new assembly will not come with lamps, you will need to reinstall the old lamps or order new lamps. It's very easy.
The way that you change a high mount brake light on a 2007 Taurus is by first prying the light assembly from the housing. You then push rearward to remove it from the retaining clips. Next, life the light assembly from the shelf and disconnect the assembly wiring. Replace the light assembly and reverse directions to put the light housing back where it goes.
To reset the oil change light on a Toyota Highlander 2012, switch the engine to the OFF position. Then switch the engine back on while pressing the trip meter reset button until it displays 000000 or says COMPLETE.
It is true that they are built on the same PLATFORM, but the the Camry is designed and equipped as a passenger sedan and the Highlander as a light duty truck and therefore, their running gear is different.
