How do you change the slave cylinder on a 98 Sunfire?

Disconnect the fluid lines to the slave cylinder. Remove transmission(refer to hanes manual), the clutch will stay on the motor pull the trans off so input shaft is out of clutch then pull out the slave cylinder. Put trans back in. Attach lines. Will have to bleed it, just like bleeding breaks.

On a 98 Pontiac Sunfire, the red color of wire goes on the terminal marked "B" on the starter. This terminal is located close to the battery of the vehicle.

You will need to remove the transmission and you will find it in the bellhouseing. There will be 4 10mm bolts that hold it on,

It is on the front of the bell housing of the transmission. To find it trace a "brake line" fitting from the firewall to the bottom of the transmission bell housing.

My wife has a '98 Sunfire and to the best of my knowledge, there isn't a P.C.V valve. (I haven't been able to find it!!) There is no pcv valve on the sunfires year 98 and newer.

there are a few reasons why this can happen but the most likely is a problem with the slave cylinder
