first park the truck so its on a slight hill. go underneath the truck. look up in the middle, behind the front tires. there is a metal plate there held on by about 4 or 5 bolts. take that off. after its off you'll see a square pan held on by about 20 bolts all the way around the pan. put something underneath this pan to catch the fluid. start with the rear bolts and loosen them up. don't take them all the way off yet unless you want to get soaked in tranny fluid. then go around the pan and start loosening the rest of the bolts (make sure the back row of bolts is the loosest so it drains slowly). after no more fluid is draining hold the pan up straight and take off all the bolts. then remove the pan completely and finish draining, remove old tranny filter. wipe up all trans fluid where pan used to fit and remove old tranny cover gasket. next, install new tranny filter then, get some carburetor cleaner or engine degreaser and clean the pan really good. lay new tranny gasket over pan using some of the bolts to hold gasket in place. then put the pan, with gasket, back onto the transmission and bolt everything back up. (blazers take metric wrenches). after everything is back on get 5 quarts of dexron 3 Transmission Fluid and fill it up from under the hood, check under the vehicle make sure nothing is leaking, check your levels of fluid on dipstick.
Remember- if you park on a hill or any incline be sure to block the wheels!
You will have to remove the transmission pan that is on the bottom of the transmission to drain the fluid.
