The VSS is above the rear differential, mounted on the bottom of the truck bed, very simple to install, its about $30 at autozone.

The Mazda Millennia Speed sensor tells the speedometer how fast the vehicle is traveling. Speed sensors are located on top of the transmission housing where they can reach the input shaft. The speed at which the input shaft spins tells the vehicle how fast it is moving.

The vehicle speed sensor is located on the top side, facing towards the windshield, of the transmission. It is directly under the air intake hose that leads from the air filter to the intake manifold. It can be very difficult to reach and requires a T30 Torx bit.
If you know the velocity you can find the speed, you don't need a sensor.
I believe that ur speed sensor is going bad to find this sensor, it rests on top on the transmission. This informs the PCM of the vehicle speed.Once this goes bad ur speedometer and odometer will not function. a screwdriver and small wrench shud remove this and install new one in same manner
