hi you have to remove the oil pan then go to autozone or oriley and tell them you need a oil pan gasket for 96 dodge neon then you would place blue siacone on the oil pan ,then you would place the gasket on the oil pan ,make sure that you can see the screw holes ok very easy.

If it's a small hole, you might be able to get away with some 3M structural adhesive. Most of the time you end up installing a new pan.

User Avatar

Of course, it does. You can find it just in the middle of the engine oil pan.

Oil pan gasket and pump gasket. Be sure and clean the oil pan out throughly and clean the strainer. If you find the oil pan bolt holes are protruding inward, then with a small hammer, make sure to flatten then out to ensure a good seal. Tighten all bolts to OEM factory specifications, to avoid leaks.

Drain the oil from your oil pan. Remove the oil pan bolts. There are 24 oil pan bolts. The oil pan will come off.

Replacing the oil pan gasket is a fairly simple process. The labor allotment for replacement is 3/4 hour plus parts. Removing the oil pan requires a full oil change by necessity as well.

Park your car on a flat surface and make sure your engine is cool before going under the car. The oil pan should be on the center of the engine and will be a small pan that you can unscrew. Before draining the oil pan place a oil catch or oil tray underneath the cars oil pan so it can catch the oil that is being drained. Replace the oil into the engine before driving again.

You will need to drop the oil pan to change the oil pan on a Hummer 2. The oil pan is located in inside the oil pan. You also need to first drain the oil pan of the old oil before you drop the pan.

User Avatar

that depends on whether the oil pan gasket is leaking of it you have a hole in the oil pan if you have leaking gasket, the engine needs to be raised to enable removal of oil pan, gonna cost you some bucks. if you have a hole, drain the oil pan. buy a good filler at auto store, clean area round hole and plug leak i priced it today and it was 2.5 hours labor plus the price of the pan and gasket. around 400 bucks.

The proper and most reliable way of making that repair would be to replace the oil pan.
