What's happened is the seat belt twisted and because the slot is so thin it won't reel all the way in. Get a long screw driver or a butter knife and push the belt the rest of the way in so that the buckle is in the original starting position. Once you have done that you should be able to pull it out and untwist it.

Here is a free tip from a senior cabbie, to release a stuck middle seat belt on rear seat.
I encountered a problem with a Ford Mondeo 2003 reg when the rear middle belt got stuck when I pulled it to use. The belt did not wind up after use.
I took it to a garage and all he did was;
1. Folded the back of the seat down which the belt was attached to.
2. Threw the back, back to its vertical position with a shear force.
That was it.... the belt started to function 100% as new.
I hope it works for every one out there as i tried the same trick on a Citroen xsara and it worked. It saved me a fortune twice. Best of luck !
