IF YOU CAN HEAR THE MOTOR RUNNING,CHANCES ARE THE WINDOW REGULATOR IS OUT BUT YOU MUST STILL REMOVE THE DOOR PANEL TOO SEE BOTH OF THEM, USUALLY ITS VISUALLY OFF TRACK OR BROKEN.WHEN PURCHASING BE SURE TO ASK IF THEY COME TOGETHER OR SEPARATE IT MAY BE A GOOD IDEA TO REPLACE BOTH AT THE SAME TIME ANYWAY TO KEEP FROM BEING IN THERE AGAIN TO REPLACE MOTOR.
you need to replace the window master switch
Sounds like the motor is disconnected from the window, or the gear may be stripped. == == == == go to a place that works with motors and ask what might be wrong
Busted switch, motor or wiring.
The if that window is the only one not going up and down, its the motor, or maybe even a short in the wiring. ** My 4 door went out one window at the time.
Check the wires to the window motor. The window motor may have a loose wire or the motor may need to be replaced.
Replace the window regulator, it may come with the motor.
Maybe dirty contact on button. Or the switch is bad on one side of it. Other words, the down side works, but the up side is not making contact. If the circuit or motor was bad the window probably wouldn't work in either direction.
Electric Window problemIf you haven't checked already, check to see if the window is in the track and not out of the track and then check the regulator to see if one or more teeth are broken or may have come disconnected. Hope that might help also sometimes the motor works but doesn't have enough strength to lift the window had that problem on my 1987 Nissan wagon had to rebuild the window motor. or if it is on track the cable linkig might have snapped my 95 did same on driver window
my passenger window did the same thing. I had to take the whole door panel off and one of the bolts on the bracket that connects the window to the motor was off so i put it back together and it works fine. there are only 2 bolts its actually very easy to fix.
As far as I know there is no way to get the window down other than removing the motor itself. The motor is what holds the window up when closed. Make sure its the motor that has failed. There is also a switch located on the drivers side latch inside the gate that is designed to not allow the window to open when the gate is down. If that switch fails it the window motor will not function at all. I used a wire jumper to bypass the switch and solved my problem.
The regulator has failed and needs replaced.
have someone check the wiring of the window control panel, if its not that, its your window motor, for a '90 a used motor from a junk yard probably wouldn't be more than 30 bucks
