my light went off when i put a new gas cap on and unhooked the battery 10 min too reset
Its directly below the Power Steering Pump. You have to take the whole pump off (remove the accessory drive belt also) and then it will be exposed. From there just remove the connector and one bolt and the sensor should come out.
Ignition module then computer.
The sensor is down on the front of the oil pan just behind the crankshaft pully, which is located at the front of the engine.
No , it has the Coil On Plug ( C. O. P. ) ignition system
You need to replace the Distributor cap and rotor. Be sure that the coil wire is not WHITE or RUSTED on the ends were they go in the cap and coil, If they are then replace the COIL and the plug wires too. Just be sure that you use Factory Parts not after market.
I was looking at the 1999 Mercury Cougar Owner Guide and it does not show that it has a gas cap warning light
it is filled in the overflow tank. the cougar has a sealed system and there is no radiator cap like typical cares
there is no radiator cap. it is a sealed system meaning the only place to fill and check is thru the overflow resevoir.
No, it has no cap on radiator. You fill radiator thru the reservoir cap on the rt side of engine. Hope this helps.
On a 2002 Mercury Cougar : No , the thread on cap on your engine coolant reservoir is the pressure cap / radiator cap
CID?

Remove radiator cap. Push Cougar out of the way. Push a better car under the radiator cap. Install radiator cap.
