Get a manual on your car to see what else needs done. They are available at the parts store.
We did get the heater core out. In the manual, it states there are three nuts in the engine compartment. We finally found out they were on the firewall and covered in a putty like material. All in all the job did take along time. Also when we finished, we had to purge the air out of the top hose. And finally we have heat.Manuals don't always give you all the information you need.

Heater core is located inside the H/AC "suitcase". It can be a chore, but you're best bet is to remove the 'suitcase' and remove the heater core once the suitcase is on the ground.
