I just changed my timing belt on my 91 tercel... first your gonna have to remove the plastic covers that cover the timing belt... i had to remove the crank pully to remove the bottom cover. once you have the covers off, there should be a belt tensioner in the middle of the timing belt. (mine was on the left side of the motor) I think its a 12mm maybe 14mm but there you can tighten or loosen however much you need... but be aware... if you loosen it too much you have a risk of it jumping timing and then your in a world of trouble... if its too tight then you risk the belt breaking and well... a world of trouble.. lol.. but changing the timing belt on my 91 tercel wasnt hard at all... maybe frustrating but not hard... you should def go by autozone or advanced auto and pick up a haynes book for your car... in it will tell you EVERYTHING you need to know about that car... from changing a break light to whole engine overhaul.... very handy book and always nice to have.... any other questions email me at UNKNOWNUSER4432@Yahoo.COM... just put "Tercel Problems" in the subject box that way i dont delete it by accident... im no PRO but im really good at solving problems...
