If the key is still in the ignition, leave it there! Use your spare key to open and lock the doors as you continue to drive it. Get it to a reliable mechanic. He/she will remove the entire ignition and have a duplicate key made. If you try to repair it yourself, you may wind up having to re-key the entire vehicle and this can be much more expensive. Remove the knee pad underneath the steering wheel, there are 5 sheet metal screws hidden between the carpet loops in the knee pad. Reach up and press the instrument cluster out a few inches, it is not held by screws just pressure. Remove the one nut holding a long bolt through the ignition lock. Turn the key to position one.
