I have a 1996 Riviera and I just got done removing the drivers door panel. The first thing I did was remove the access cover from the inside door release handle and remove the screw behind it. Second remove the access plugs on the inside handle behind these two plugs you will find torx head screws about 2" long it is a TX30 unscrew the screws but don't remove them. Third on the top of the door is a Phillips head screw close to the re-view mirror remove it on the opposite end of the door is another Phillips screw remove this one. Fourth gently lift the door panel and it should pop off take care not to break the fingers that point down. Reverse this procedure to install. The first time I did this I found a 50 dollar bill inside the door hope you are as lucky….
remove the door panel, there are 2 bolts that you can get to through holes in the inside steel panel. remove 2 linkages. the handle will then come off from the outside.
