there should be 3 bolts attaching the alternator, 2 short bolts and 1 long bolt
Must be removed from underneath the car. Also the cross member blocking access to the alternator must be removed. This is a very difficult repair, as I have done this one myself.
Make sure the retaining bolts are removed. Take a rubber mallet and tap on the alternator to free it from its position.
The 2003 Dodge Stratus came optionally equipped in a 3.0L V6 engine. The first step is the disconnection of battery cables. Second, the serpentine drive belt can released and removed. Last, the two bolts holding the alternator to engine mount can be removed and replacement. The OE alternator for the 3.0L application is AC Delco #3341420.
The entire dash assembly must be removed to gain access to the heater core.
The alternator is bad. The engine is running off of the battery and when you take the cable off it has no electrical power. If the alternator was working, the car would keep running. Be advised, doing this can damage a healthy alternator. This is not a good way to test the system.
To remove the taillight assembly on a 1997 Infiniti Qx4, the lining for the cargo area needs to be removed. Push down, and turn the plastic rivets in the corner of the cargo area. Then remove the cover over the taillight bulb.
To replace the daytime running light on a 2004 Suburban, you will have to first remove the two metal pins that can be found on top of the headlight. The headlight assembly can be removed next. Pull out the plugs that are connected to the headlight assembly. Replace the bulbs and then reconnect the assembly.
Disconnect the negative battery cable. Remove the air cleaner assembly if necessary. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the alternator. Loosen the alternator adjusting bolt or nut and through-bolt and remove the alternator belt. Remove the alternator adjusting bolt or nut and through-bolt and remove the alternator. If necessary, remove the mount bracket bolts and the upper and lower mount brackets. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure: put the alternator in place and re-bolt mount bracket (if removed). Engage the electrical connectors and install the air cleaner assembly (if removed).
you have to remove the washer fluid tank, battery ,and full windshield wiper assembly. there are three bolts that must be removed on the alternator, plus two wires. The alternator sits way in the back under the wiper assembly(passenger side). Almost impossible to get to, right against the firewall, must use a small ratchet wrench, NOT SOCKET-TOO BIG. Hope i could help
yes, once the alternator is removed from the bracket, the axle and exhaust interferes with the removal of the alternator from the vehicle.
The alternator is the adjustment point. Loosen the bolts holding the alternator to the engine and slide the alternator in towards the engine. This will allow you to remove the fan belt. However, if you also have power steering, the power steering belt may have to be removed before the alternator belt can be completely removed. Loosen the bolts holding the power steering pump assembly to the engine and slide the pump towards the engine to remove both belts.
I believe your Suburban is the same as my '96 pickup. Once you've removed the two screws there are two tabs on the outside of the assembly. Simply rotate the assembly around towards the outside of the body and push in on the other side to disengage the two tabs. Should come right out.
There are 2 hex shaped rods protruding from the top of the headlamp assembly. You can see these above the headlight after you open the hood. Just use a small socket (5/16" I believe) and unscrew these 2 rods and the headlight assembly can be removed . . . (it drops out of the front) . . . thereby exposing the headlight bulbs.
must removed the shield that covers the the fan in front. once that's removed you could get a better clear area to get to the alternator.
The encoder motor sensor is found inside the front of the transfer case. The sensor motor assembly is removed with 3 - 15mm bolts after the front driveshaft and electrical connector are disconnected. The encoder motor sensor is under the big gear on the back of that assembly plate.
Removing a spare tire is easy to do from a Chevy Suburban. The tire is removed with the tool that is located on with your jack.

To remove the headlight assembly, open the hood, locate and remove the two tabs that lock and hold the assembly in place, with those tabs removed you can wiggle the headlight assembly out in the open. Now you can reach in and r & r the burned out signal bulb
