I use a thin wire hanger. Stretch the hanger from the middle of the bottom, as far as you can, so it is longer top to bottom. Straighten the hook of the hanger until it is as straight as you can get it, it does not have to be perfect. Bend the end of the straightened hook with needle nose pliers about 1/4 inch to a 90 degree angle. Slide the little bend parallel with the door behind the crank, in front of the plastic piece. Turn the hanger to catch on the clip and pull down. It may take two or three tries but it is much easier than using screw drivers. Also, be prepared to look for the clip on the ground, after it flies out.
