First you drain the trans by removing the pan, then you remove the trans oil filter, the solenoids are clearly visible after that. All that is left is to remove the retaining bolt that holds the solenoid to the valve body. Install new solenoid in reverse order.
where is shift solenoid
I will probably find out tomorrow--mine seems to need replacement in my 97 GP. 3.8
It is inside the trans, on top of the valve body.
its located at the bottom of the transmission its the longer one
The shift solenoid B for a 1997 Chrysler Convertible is located inside the transmission. The speed sensor has to be removed to access the bolts to remove the cover over this shift solenoid.
They are in the transmission. It is not a job for someone inexperienced at all.
Inside the trans, on the side of the valve body.
Shift solenoids are inside the transmission, and require disassembly of the transmission to replace.
How do i replace blend door motor
I'm not sure about a Pontiac, but on my mom's Ford Escort it is located under the all the plastic housing where the gear shift is mounted on the floor. It should be located somewhere near your safety interlock override button, as this is attached to the solenoid itself. You can use the override button to bypass the solenoid if it quits working so that you can get at least get your car in gear until you get a chance to replace solenoid.
If it's on a 97-01 Ford Expedition you need to unplug the factory harness from the shift motor and then unbolt the shift motor from the transmission. I've also included a great how to video link that will show you how to accomplish all of this.
Check your EGRC Solenoid valve.
