the thermostat is under the thermostat housing follow the top radiator hose to the block two bolts hold it in place
you looked at it Timing out of adjustment can cause overheating.
You will find thermostat at the back side of the timing belt rear cover. It should be in a housing which is connected to the radiator 'S' Bend. Hope you may find it out.
I'm not sure exactly but follw the top hose(I believe) out of your radiator and you should come across the thermostat housing. I'm not certain on an accord but on my car the housing looked somewhat like a turtle shell, take that off and there you are.
This sometimes depends on the motor, but usually just follow the upper radiator hose to the motor. There will be a cast piece with two bolts, thermostat is inside. On the four-cylinder 2.5-liter one I had, it was undera pressure caps of sorts that was removeable. It looked sort of like the underside of a radiator cap, with a spring coming out the bottom. Six cylinders probably were different.
I would do a complete coolant replacement and have the system flushed. Also replace the thermostat, and radiator cap, which may very well be your problem. If you are loosing coolant and there is no apparent leak, then you may have a blown head gasket. This can do serious damage to the engine. Have this looked into ASAP.
Bottom corner of the radiator, facing the engine, typically opposite end of the radiator from the lower radiator hose.
HELLO HAVE YOU LOOKED AT THE BOTTOM OF THE RADIATOR,ON THE LEFT OR RIGHT SIDE. GOOD LUCK
Could be multiple things. First thing to check would be the radiator and make sure it is full of coolant. If everything checks out there the next place to check would be the thermostat. It is located near the upper radiator hose on the top on the intake. Best way to check a cold thermostat is to drop it in a boiling pot of water and see if it springs open. If that is in check then it is probably the head gasket and will be need to be looked at by an a.s.e. certified mechanic.
The thermostat housing is dome shaped at the end of the radiator top hose on the block, and should be near the water pump which is on the front of the engine. Not looked at a Montana lay out so can't help further.. :)
No it is on top of motor. The above is incorrect , I believe. It appears to be on the side of the engine attached to the water pump. But it is not on the top, as above stated( i just looked, and ruined a perectly good upper hose gasket.)
Ok ....Have you changed the thermostat? It could be worn and sticking, thus holding it open also another thought.. new radiator cap. If it is worn out, it cannot help hold the pressure inside the radiator and engine, therfore the fluid(50/50) is dumped out thru the overflow pipe.(My dad was a hotrod engine builder)I have a 1998 blazer and I had to do the same thing.New radiator because the tensioner broke off and ran thru the radiator.New upper and lower hoses. New thermosatat, couldn't figure it our until I looked at the radiator cap. 16lbs new. worked like a charm.
the thermostat is on behind what autozone calls the GOOSENECK.u have to follow the radiator hose to the front of the water pump. its middle of the engine right in front. the fan can get in the way because it was for me but a lil time and you will get it. it isn't a traditional spot but once u find it youll wonder how u looked over it so many times
