The Haynes manual gives very good instructions for replacing the water pump. Basically, you'll need to remove the fan housing and fan first to get access to the pump. Secondly, you'll need to release the tension on the serpentine belt and remove the belt (release tension using a wrench with a 5/8" (possibly a 9/16") socket and pulling it clockwise). You then need to disconnect the three hoses to the pump). You'll also need to move the alternator, Power Steering pump and A/C compressor out of the way (I used bungee cords and pulled them towards the hood hinge). I needed to also remove the mounting plate for all these items. Be prepared to drain the system of coolant before you disconnect any of the hoses. There are around 7-8 bolts holding the pump to the timing chain cover. Make sure you keep track of the order of the bolts. There are at least two different lengths and you'll want to sketch out where they come from. Finally, pop off the old pump and clean the surfaces of old gasket residue. Use either RTV or a combination of RTV and a new gasket with your new pump. Plan on this taking at least 2-3 hours.
