First give yourself plenty of time. I am just finishing the job. Start by taking off the intake manifold cover and manifold itself. This will expose the water pump. Jack up the pass. side of car and jack stand it. Place a hydrolic jack under the engine on the pass side. Bring up the engine about 1/2 inch. Remove water reservoir and C.control including bracket. Remove the motor mount from that side. Remove oil seal. There is like 16 or 18 small bolts holding it on.(outer and inner) The oil seal thing is about 1ft wide and about 22 inches long. You must also remove the wheel on pass side. I belive you will need a 17mm socket to remove bolt on camshaft pulley. After bolt removed I had to use a pulley puller to remove the camshaft pulley. Some come off easily, mine didn't though. Remove the oil seal which i mentioned about, it is black thin piece of metal, there is also the gasket. Now you will be able to see the timing chain and inside of the water pump. (water pump you can see the pulley through timing chain. Remove timing chain. This is the tricky part. Put you vehicle in time before you get to far into things. Top two pulleys there is a bolt where you can insert a 10 mm bolt when bolt hole on pulley is in the down position. The cam shaft pulley must be facing between the two top pulleys. It does matter, I had to take my whole car apart and do it all over again. Remove tentioner to remove timing chain. There are two nuts and one bolt on the water pump to timing chain casing. There are two bolts at the bottom of the water pump connecting to the lower water pipe. Then there are two bolts mounting to the block. There is also a bracket with large bolt facing the driver side. Put it all back together the way you took it apart. If you have ne questions, email me at amoraysdaddy@sbcglobal.net. I try to check my email everyday, sometimes I get behind a day so please be patient. I am not a mechanic. But I could not afford almost $1,000.00 for my car to be in the shop. That was average estimate in modesto California. Took me working a week and a half after work for 3 to 4 hours to finally get it done. Shop said about 7 to 8 for professional. Professional I am not! ! ! ! Good luck to all, if you can afford to have it done, save yourself a headache.
