Jack up the front end. Take out the huge bolts on either side of the truck underneigh both doors. Using a hammer tap the torsion bar of out the torsion bar key. Put the torsion bar into the key, tighten the big bolt to the exact height as it was installed previously.
I highly recommend getting a full alignment afterwords.
Take the truck to your local Chevy dealer and have them adjust the torsion bars to lift the front and then do a realignment. About 100 bucks. New torsion bar keys are not needed.
is there a "special tool" to put torsion keys on a ranger
jack up front end, drop both bolts out of the torsion keys, knock both bars out then put new keys in
If you had keys with computer chip embedded, you will have to go back to a dealer, and have it checked&ordered..
the ignition keys are dealer only items.
Go to this web page that gives step by step instructions. http://www.towman.com/carentry/lockout_12_04.html
I own a 1989 dodge Dakota and it has torsion bars that can be raised and lowered. Just follow the torsion bars from the front to the back and look at where they stop there should be a 7/8 bolt that you can turn clockwise to raise the truck and counter clockwise to lower it
