You changed your battery in your 2002 VW Jetta, and lost the radio? No Problem... (as they would say in Jamaica).
If you are the legitimate owner of the car, you should have the four digit Radio unlock Code saved somewhere with the manuals or better yet, have a file at home for that (would not recommend to keep it in the glove compartment). Switch ON the radio, the "SAFE" letters will appears on your display, followed by 1000. Using your Preset Channel buttons, change the numbers to match your Unlock Code. Depress #1 is for the first digit, #2 is for the second and so on. When all four numbers are set, press the right arrow ">" on the Tuning (FF) button. This is all it takes.

Howdo i reset my radio security code ml 500 2002
The reset code is specific to the radio. Look in and on the glove compartment for the code and in the owners manual. If it is not there you need the serial number of the radio and have to call the dealer for the code.
I have a 2002 cadillac dts and the radio will not come on. Is there a code to reset it.
No I can't answer this, but I have the same question. The battery has been diconnected and the reset code is doing nothing. The 2003 TDI Jetta does not have an option to use the radio speakers for a phone... so what's up?
You can not unlock the radio without the code. You can remove the radio and get the serial number from it and call the dealer for the unlock code.
you need to contact a dealer and get the code for your car.
There is nothing to reset except the radio station presets and possibly radio code if the radio has a theft deterrent feature. Nothing else for you to do.
the radio code is on the back of the radio. take the radio out and you can see it.
The code is usually found on a small card and could be in or around the glove compartment. If it is not there you have to obtain the serial number of the radio and call the dealer for the code.
Check the owner's manual, or go to the dealer. These will be your only resources. strangley enough after i did the power window reset my radio turned right on.
most car dealerships will help with unlock codes ... just call the jetta dealer and ask for service ..it will be a 3-5 min phone conversation with you sitting in the car . as they walk you through it
with the radio s/n number you will have to get the reset code through a Honda dealer with the radio s/n number you will have to get the reset code through a Honda dealer
