If the head is striped and a socket or wrench will no longer grip the bolt you can get a set of bolt extractors at any local auto parts store...they will dig into the bolt head so you can remove it...just make sure to get a new bolt or brake hardware kit while your at the parts store.
Take the caliper to a machine shop and have the broken bolt removed or just replace the caliper. If you do not understand the bolt sizing, you are not equipped to retap the caliper.
On the back of the caliper there should be a bolt its a 14mm you take it out and inside there is a bolt also its Allen key you use and Allen key and retract the caliper. it works on all 626 from 1994 till 2002
You can use a small drift to tap it loose OR drill it out.
you need to take off both caliper bolts and remove the caliper from the carriage... most Mazda calipers will not pivot...
Youll probably have to drill it out and get a new bolt to mount the caliper with.
Take off Front 2 wheels behind the caliper you will see 2 bolts take off the caliper .. you need a special tool compress the caliper snap the new pads in lube them up and bolt back on the caliper ... easy as pie
on the caliper take out the bottom bolt, there are two bolts that the caliper slides on and only undo the bottom one. Then the caliper will swing up and allow access to the disc pads . You need to get a G-clamp and push the piston in the caliper back( or else it wont fit back down). put it back together and pump the brakes to set the brake piston b4 you drive or the first time you go to brake you wont have any.
you have to take the wheel off first of all. Then you will see, bolted on to the axle, right over top the brake rotor is the brake caliper, fastened by two bolts that you remove, causing the whole caliper to come loose.next u will see two more bolts of close to the same size holding the brake slider in place.remove them.now u can remove the pads from the slider.before putting the new pads in the slider, take two c-clamps and push both plungers back as far as they go.now, put the new pads in place, bolt the slider onto the caliper, bolt the caliper to the axle mount, and put the wheel back on. Good Luck!! you have to take the wheel off first of all. Take the front wheels off. turn steering so that you can access the brake caliper. Remove lower bolt on caliper. Pull the caliper up and take out the old pads. Depress the piston for the caliper all the way. i use channel locks. Careful not to damage the rubber gaskets and grommets. Put the new pads in the caliper and swing the caliper back over the disc. Grease the bolt with lithium grease and put a little anti seize on the threads. Put bolt back in and tighten. Repeat proceedure on other wheel. You might neede to take a little brake fluid out of the master cylinder to depress calipers all the way to get new pads in. I've done this 8-10 times as I've had my truck for 22 years. Probably take less than an hour.
take off wheel, then take off caliper by the 2 mounting bolts. do not let caliper hang by brake hose, tie up to spring if possible so your brake hose does not get broke. take off caliper mount, then slide rotor off. when putting back on caliper, push caliper cup in to bore, all the way with a c clamp. put caliper holder back on. then put brake pads in caliper. place caliper over rotor, and tighten down.
Pull the wheels off, take off the six small bolts on the hub assembly, remove the large bolt holding the hub assembly on, remove the caliper, pull the hub assembly off and the rotor will then be free.
Take off the wheel, then you will see the caliper, on the back of the brake caliper there are two hex head Allen bolts, take those out then you will be able to pry off the caliper. once the caliper is off change the brake pads and put it back together!
