how do you tighten a chain on a 150 ATV
you shorten the chain links
you shorten the chain links
stick a screw driver in sprocket hole into the slits cut for tightening loosen the two bolts and jerk ATV forward
It has an automatic chain tensioner..
you can tighten the actual chain but that may be hard to do. my advice is that there shoulbe be some bolts in the swingarms that holg the axle in one place loosen them and move the axle back until the chain is where you want it
undo pinch bolts, rotate cam clockwise (that's the big housing that the axle runs through) and tighten pinch bolts again. Its not a cam its called the carrier and you would turn towards the front of the ATV to tighting, still allow the chain to have some slack 3/4 inch
There isn't a "timing" on a 400ex or any other atv. There is a timing CHAIN, and timing chain tensioner. -my400ex89 "go big or go home"
The official Honda website would have Honda ATV parts for sale or would at least have a list of dealerships that are in your area that sell Honda ATV parts.
take the timing chain cover off and with a wire hanger pull it from the bottom to the top sprocket so it doesn't fall.
You should post on a ATV forum. See related links for a Honda ATV forum. They will try to help you out.
