With a good teacher, patience, and good hand and foot coordination it is not difficult. It just takes practice. Getting the engine rpms and the clutch release just right does take a little practice but once you get it, it is easy. I learned on a manual column shift 1954 Chevrolet and I personally think everyone should know how to drive a stick. Good luck learning.
It is not hard if you know how to drive a manual. If you're thinking about changing your transmission: Buy another car with an A/T instead. It is way more cost effective.

Converting a manual transmission to automatic transmission is not possible but you can replace a manual transmission to an automativ transmission . That is also an expensive deal.
