It hasn't really had an impact on the world. Christianity has though. Through people, for example Martin Luther King jr, he changed America and he was a Christian. God works through people. On my opinion Budda is a dead god. Christianity is the only religion to serve a living God.

Buddhism has quite a powerful influence on Western culture, you can find Buddha's image in every town and city in Westerm Europe. In general it promotes a sense of calm and peace amongst people, highlighting non agression as a potential way of life.
