I can think of two:
First, that both believe that the ultimate reality cannot be portrayed.
And second, the emphasis on Compassion. Buddhism considers compassion (with wisdom) to be ultimate life-goals. And Muslims pray always to "Allah, the merciful, the compassionate."
In terms of how we are to treat each other, Buddhism, Islam, Judaism and Christianity (the 3 Abrahamic religions) are very similar. People are to be treated kindly and with respect, the poor are to be helped. In regards to punishment for crimes or trespasses, they are quite different. Buddhism believes in total non-violence, even for criminals.
In terms of religuos pratice and beliefs, Buddhism, Islam, Judaism and Christianity are completely different. While the 3 Abrahamic religions believe in a single god that reigns over the realms of Earth, Heaven and Hell, Buddhists do not beleive in any eternal god or eternal afterlife. We believe that there are different realms a person can attain, some good, some not so good in reaction to their actions (karma). Persons will not spend eternity in these realms but will be reborn into a realm fitting their karma (actions).
Actually Islam is quite different from bhudism because in Islam they worship 1 God in Arabic known as *Allah* but in bhudism they instead worship statues or carved craft but apparently Islam and Christianity are almost are the same because they have a belief in 1 God.
The beliefs are quite different. Muslims believe in Allah (God in English, same God in Christianity and Judaism) as the one and only one God with no partner, no son, no companion, and no associate. Buddhists neither confirm nor deny the existence of God, and believe in reincarnation.
However, they share the good morals, the non racism, the mutual respect, and the striving for the benefit of mankind and environment.
