Most starters have two VERY long bolts that retain it to the bell-houseing of the transmission.
Should be 6 bolts on the bell housing to mate it to the engine.

Any now you're thinking no, there's no way, Ford wouldn't have put bolts on TOP of the bell housing, would they?!? A: Yep. There are two. Which makes 8 bolts total on the bell housing. Good luck! (I just did this and had pretty good luck using a 'GearWrench' style ratcheting wrench.)
