I lost 100 pounds in about a year taking in an average of 1500-1600 calories per day with no exercise, but it's better to exercise of course. Don't stress out counting calories too much. Just estimate. The better rule is eat when your actually hungry, and I don't men the feeling people have that they think is hunger, just because they crave something. I mean feeling a few stomach growls, or at least feeling empty in the stomach. You know the feeling. When you eat, don't take it too far above the hunger line. Eat until your feeling better, not stuffed. and wait until you feel hungry again, then eat again. It's pretty easy, you'll gain energy, and it's never a battle. Have faith you'll lose, because you will every 2 -3 weeks. You will lose weight in cycles, NOT consistent steady loss. THAT'S THE MOST MIS-UNDERSTOOD THING ABOUT DIETING. Salad bar ladies (you know what I'm talking about) wonder why they're not losing after 2 days. CYCLES! It slows down as you lose, But 2 pounds loss late in the diet equals 5-6 early in the diet, depending how overweight you are. Every time you lose weight, you'll feel it before you weigh yourself and you'll know. Good news! Eat whatever you want. Stay away from fried foods, but anything is cool. Always be honest about the calorie estimation, but it's mostly by how light your stomach feels. This is fool proof if you have guts (no pun intended) and patients. Now get off your fat butts and go grab a sandwich if your hungry. Last, keep your mind occupied if possible. The more healthy the food, the better. I ate ice cream, frozen yogurts, Hamburgers daily, (no fries!), some Pizza, Sandwiches, chicken bowls, ANYTHING! I'll eave you with this....'It's all in the mind control'. you must know that "you WILL lose the weight and look great and feel Great, IF YOU JUST DO IT. NOTHING CAN STOP YOU EXCEPT YOU! GO!
A man between the ages of 19 and 30 with a sedentary lifestyle needs 2,400 calories; a more active male requires 200 more.

how many calories should a child eat in one day to maintain healthy weight
How many calories does a 110 pound woman need a day to maintain her weight? Like 1500 calories..
Maintaing a certain weight, regardless of that weight, is about balancing your calorie intake with your calorie expenditure. If you expend as many calories as you eat, you will maintain your weight.
Around 1200 to maintain a healthy weight
Many people are watching how many calories they eat these days. Most of the time it is to lose weight. However, if you are looking to maintain 1 kg of weight you should eat about 2,000 calories a day. The exact amount will be determined by your height and activity level as well as your age.
This depends on your height and exercise routine, but you should probably have around 1800 calories to maintain your weight or 1500 to begin losing weight.
To maintain your weight you should eat 15 calories for every pound you are, no matter your age. (but medical condition may vary) i.e. Someone that weight 140 pounds should eat 2100 calories everyday 140x15=2100
A person should eat about 1400 calories if you lead a sedentary life and want to maintain your weight. More calories are needed the more active the person is.
