Remove the 20 bolts holding the fluid pan on, and drop the pan. BEWARE: There will be about 5 quarts of fluid that will come gushing out everywhere! Have a big pan ready to catch as much as possible to avoid a huge mess. The filter is attached to the valve body and will be self explanatory at this point. Re install the pan, using only a gasket with NO SEALER. Evenly tighten all 20 bolts until they are snug but not overly tight. Refill the transmission throught the dipstick tube, and observe the proper fill level, do not overfill. Use Mercon III fluid.
