You have to pull the oil pan. To do that you often have to lift the engine. Unfortunately, oil pumps are about the least often part of an engine to go bad. If you have low oil pressure it's probably because the babbit bearings are worn and allow too much oil to leak past. It probably isn't a bad oil pump, although when you're rebuilding the engine you should always replace the oil pump.
