You can find the PCV valve for your 1987 Nissan on top of the engine. The PCV valve will be near the air filter housing.

The 1987 Nissan cylinder had bolt torque specification is 140 pounds. The cylinder head bolts should be torqued in 45 pound intervals.
On the harmonic balacer
It is on the passenger side floorboard behind the kick plate( which will be on the right)
it has a chain and fun to change.
at top dead center, camshaft mark at 12 o'clock and crank at 5 o'clock. belt should also have marks if it a Nissan belt.

It controls the headlights, dash lights, tail lights and park lights. You don't repair it you replace it.
Try the timing chain...This is a common problem on Nissan Z cars after 60,000 miles.

If this is a fuel-injected car, the pump is in the tank. I believe in 1987 they went from Carb to fuel-injected. If it is a carb, it is on the lower right side of the engine.
