I have a VW Jetta 2001 I have had so many thing done to this car this summer $ 3,000 dollar worth when I turn my car on it goes blank let it set for a day it starts back up got a cable jump that's last for a week could it ce my battery also took it to auto zone they said my battery was low but I afraid to buy the battery and still have the same problem. please!!! help sign all cashed out,
Could be: Power steering pump Alternator bearing Water pump Belt tensioner or in drive train
It could be, try shooting it with some wd40 and if it changes pitch or stops it probably is.

A fife is like a small flute or piccolo, but it's louder and shriller because it is narrower.
Check in with the dealer to see if there have been any recalls or technical papers sent out on it. It could be an indication of transmission issues to come.

you probably threw a rod out, get it to a mechanic ASAP or you will have more problems.
Check tires -I did check the tires, cleaned off the drum brakes, checked the shocks, everything is in order but the noise continues to get louder-
The exhaust system is falling apart probably from rust, have it checked soon, you don't want fumes getting into the car.

If it gets faster and louder when you rev the engine it might be a lifter in your valve train. Not hearing it i don't totally know.
It can be either. Some gongs are much louder than others. Sirens vary in design. However, most of the sirens used today would be louder than any gong you are likely to encounter.
