If your 1997 Chevy pickup wipers and washer pump are not working, you might actually have to replace the pump motor or the wiper motor, or both. These motors are not expensive to replace and can be purchased at most auto parts stores.
have you replaced and or tested both coils? are you getting no spark on the intake and the exaust sides?
Look for a loose ground/connecting wire.
It could be the ICM or the pickup module.
I'd call a locksmith. The ignition wil probably have to be drilled and replaced.
T-55 Torx Bit, unless they're been replaced before. Auto supply and hardware mega-chain stores have them.
The sensor may be defective/broken. I would have that checked or replaced.
Simple, have the alternator checked and if it is okay, check the alternator circuit to the battery
Some thing's to check on all used vehicles before purchase would be how old it is and how many miles are on it. Also inquire about what parts have been replaced and when they were replaced.
I just had the same problem in my '97 Nissan pickup. Both headlights stopped working at the same time. I went through some hoops, including trying a new headlight switch, but it turned out to be some corrosion in the plug for the fusible link that bolts onto the positive terminal of the battery. I cleaned that out and it is working fine again.
Check the power going to the HEI. I suspect you are not getting power to it. Obtain a 12V circuit tester and backtrack the power feed to the HEI. I hope this helps you. Mark check for a fuse in the fuse block.
blown bulb due to short circuit, faulty ground, or broken wire
Try changing the oxygen sensor.
The Exhaust Manifold Oxygen Sensor needs to be replaced.
that depends on the vehicle, but usually it is inside the tank beside the pickup tube. if the tank was just replaced it is more likely the wire that comes from the sensor wasn't connected.
tranny cable?
It is in the fuel tank and can be replaced.
Yes you can, as long as you have a amp and a properly working pickup it with pickup the pitch and amplify it.
